Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

All visits to the Hardeman County Jail are done via video visitation. All video visits are being monitored and recorded. Before a visit is permitted, inmates must complete a visiting form and submit it to the jail administrator. Each visit is limited to a maximum of four people (including children). One visitor must be at least 18 years old. The names of the children must also be included on the visiting form. Each inmate is permitted one one-hour visit per week.

Visiting hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visitation will be suspended between the hours of 10:45am and 11:30am (count time) and 2:45pm and 3:30pm (count time) (count time). Visitation will resume once the count has been completed. After 3:30 p.m., no visitors will be permitted. On Tuesdays, there will be no visits. Inmates with surnames beginning with the letters A through L will be permitted to receive visits.

Monday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Inmates with surnames beginning with M through Z will be permitted to visit on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visitors are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Because space is limited, visits will take place as visitors arrive and check in.

Monday through Saturday, inmates can send and receive mail. Except for mail received from the court, attorney of record, or public officials, which will be opened in the inmate’s presence, all mail (incoming and outgoing) will be inspected for contraband items prior to delivery.

No packages or cash (money orders, cash, or personal checks) will be accepted. All mail should be properly addressed and legible, with the full name and address of the sender and receiver.

Those who do not comply will have their packages returned to them, placed in property, or destroyed. There should be no artwork in the mail.
