Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

The Yadkin County Detention Center is a high-security facility. The Detention Center can accommodate 72 male inmates and 29 female inmates. The detention center houses pretrial detainees as well as those serving sentences of up to two years. In 2018, there were 1755 inmates housed. The current average daily population is 92 inmates.

In a secure setting, the Detention Center provides food, medical care, and housing. The Sheriff’s Office contracts with Trinity to provide inmates with food. Southern Health Partners is in charge of inmate medical care and screening. Medication for inmates who require it must be preapproved and provided by our health care provider.
Personal items brought from outside are not permitted. Personal items can be obtained by inmates through the commissary vender.
