The Lamar County Jail maintains an online database of inmates who are currently incarcerated there. You can find an inmate by searching the roster using the inmate’s first name, alias, or last name. Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures
All inmates in the general population have non-contact visitation and are limited to three visitors at a time. They are allowed to visit for 30 minutes once a week. All inmate worker visits are contact (non-conjugal), and they are limited to 5 visitors at a time. They are permitted to visit for one hour per week. It is the inmate’s and/or visitors’ responsibility to complete a visitation form located at the jail. When requested by the officer in charge of visitation, the form can also be faxed or emailed. You can do so by calling 601-794-3562, faxing 601-794-1002, or emailing [email protected].
To find out if they have been approved, visitors must check with the visitation officer. When visiting, a government-issued photo ID is required. Minors must be accompanied by a legally responsible adult. All visitors to the Lamar County Jail are subject to being searched.
The Lamar County Jail also offers video visitation. Visitors can come in from home or use the terminal in the jail lobby. On-site visits will last approximately 25 minutes. An offsite visit from a computer or Android device costs $12.50 for a 25-minute session. All video visits are being monitored and recorded. All visits must be scheduled 12 hours in advance or up to 2 weeks in advance. Check-in is required 15 minutes before the scheduled visit. Inmates will be permitted one onsite visit per week.
