Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Inmates at the St. Joseph County Jail are permitted to receive visitors. Each visitor must be at least 14 years old and carry a photo ID. Prior to the start of visiting hours, guests are permitted a maximum of 30 minutes in the lobby. Each prisoner is permitted two 30-minute visits per week, with a maximum of two visitors per visit. The order of visits is first come, first served. Each month, inmates must provide the jail with the names of five approved visitors. To gain access, visitors must have their names on the visitor list.
