Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Each week, inmates at the St. Clair County Jail are permitted one 30-minute visit. They are permitted three visitors every visit, including the inmate’s children. Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must provide the minor’s birth certificate at the time of check-in. Each and every visitor is subject to a search.

The inmate is responsible for arranging visitation with a corrections officer. If there is an opening, the officer will plan a visit on a specified day and time when visits are permitted. The inmates must then notify their visitors of the visitation schedule. Sunday through Thursday, between 1:00 and 7:00 p.m., with the exception of the dinner hour (5:00pm).
