Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Before visiting an inmate, one must ensure that their name appears on the inmate’s visiting list. When an inmate first enters prison or is transferred to a new facility, a visiting list may not yet exist. In this instance, only immediate family members who can be verified through the inmate’s Pre-Sentence Report may be permitted to visit. Visiting may be denied, however, if there is little or no information available about a person. Always call the prison beforehand to ensure that your visit will be permitted.
Put on attire suitable for a large gathering of men, women, and young children. Visitation may be denied if you are dressed inappropriately (for example, in provocative or revealing clothing).
Visits must be quiet, orderly, and dignified due to the large number of people who typically attend. The visiting room officer has the authority to ask you to leave if you or the inmate are not acting appropriately.
Visitation is only permitted on Saturdays and Sundays. Call 410-758-3817 for visiting hours (hours vary based on placement of inmate). The first full weekend of each month is Children’s Weekend.
