Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., are visitation days at the Lawrence County Security Center. The visitation schedule is determined by the inmate’s housing unit.

Blocks A-H visit the basement during both hours.
First hour of Blocks I, J, and K’s visit to the second floor
Blocks L, N, and O visit the second floor during the second hour. Inmates on disciplinary lockdown visit on the last Sunday of the month during the second hour of block visits.

Children under the age of 16 are only permitted to visit on Sundays and must be accompanied by an adult. Six months will pass before individuals who have been released from prison following a conviction are permitted to visit. Probationers and parolees are also prohibited from visiting.

Additionally, inmates are permitted to receive correspondence. A prisoner’s mail must include the sender’s complete name and return address. Not permitted are tapes, stickers, Polaroids, colored pencil, or crayon drawings.

Sending money orders through the mail or using the kiosk in the lower lobby, family and friends can deposit funds into an inmate’s account. They can also deposit funds online at Inmate Canteen.
