Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Through visitation, inmates at the Lake County Jail are encouraged to maintain contact with loved ones. All visitors must present a valid identification card, such as a driver’s license or passport. Only those whose names appear on an inmate’s visitation list are permitted to visit that individual. All visitors must sign in no later than 30 minutes before the end of visiting hours in order to be permitted entry. Money orders can be sent to an inmate’s commissary account from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during visiting hours on Saturdays. A kiosk in the lobby of the jail can also be used to deposit cash.
