Important Jail Policies and Visitation Procedures

Through video visitation, inmates at the Boone County Jail are encouraged to maintain contact with family and friends. All visitors are required to create an account. One registration per user is allowed. When visiting, visitors must be logged into their own account. You can create an account on the computer in the lobby of the jail.

All visitors older than 16 must present a government-issued identification card. Visitors under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visitors are required to register in the inmate’s visitor log. Personal items must be left in the visitor’s vehicle or locked up in the lobby lockers. All guests are subject to inspection.

Each piece of inmate correspondence must include a complete return address. Only standard letters are acceptable. The following items will not be accepted: padded envelopes, greeting cards, cash or checks, Polaroid photographs, and stationery.
