Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Dade County Jail allows only non-contact visits. In the jail lobby, all visitors must register with the Visitation Officer. Visitors who do not register will not be permitted to enter the visitation room. Before visiting, all visitors over the age of 17 must present a picture identification card. Visitors who do not have proper identification will be denied entry. On their visitation day, each inmate will be allowed a total of five visitors. Each scheduled visitation has a time limit of 30 minutes. Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult. Food, drink, cameras, cell phones, knives, and other items are not permitted in the visitation area.
