Letter to the Editor: From Our Sheriff
Dear Editor:
In 2011 I attended the Constitutional Sheriffs Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. All expenses were paid by donations that the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Organization received. The conference was spearheaded by retired Sheriff Richard Mack, Arizona, who is also known for his successful lawsuit against the federal government. The conference was for sheriffs that wanted to learn more on how to stand up to the federal government and to stand united with fellow sheriffs across the nation. I was the only sheriff representing Missouri that attended. This conference was an exceptional learning tool. As your sheriff I took an “oath” to uphold our Constitution and will continue to do so, therefore I will not infringe upon your Second Amendment rights and I will do everything within my power to protect your constitutional right to bear arms.
